Reliance Retail has taken a significant step in the technology market by unveiling the JioBook, a 4G-enabled laptop with a price tag of Rs 16,499, making it one of the most affordable options for consumers seeking a feature-packed device.
Marketed as “India’s first learning book,” the JioBook will hit the shelves on August 5. Consumers can purchase the product from Reliance Digital’s online and offline stores, as well as from the e-commerce platform Amazon.in.
This is not the first time that Reliance Retail has introduced the JioBook. A previous version was discreetly launched in October last year, catering to a select group of buyers. With the latest launch, the company aims to reach a wider market.

The JioBook boasts a slim and lightweight design, weighing just 990 grams, but promises outstanding performance with its 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor, 4G-LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi capabilities, 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 64 GB storage (expandable up to 256 GB with an SD card). Additionally, it features an Infinity keyboard and a large multi-gesture trackpad.
The laptop runs on Jio’s custom Android-based JioOS and sports an 11.6-inch (29.46 cm) anti-glare HD display, ensuring a pleasant visual experience. It offers a battery backup of up to eight hours, making it suitable for extended usage. The device also comes with built-in USB, HDMI, and audio ports.
Reliance Retail envisions the JioBook as a versatile platform for learning, coding, and exploring new ventures. Whether attending online classes or starting a yoga studio, the JioBook aims to empower users in their learning endeavors.
The launch of the JioBook follows the rollout of the Jio Bharat V2, a 4G-enabled feature phone priced at Rs 999, which is aimed at providing high-quality, affordable data to economically weaker sections. After selling out the initial 1 million units worth Rs 99 crore, Reliance is scaling up the distribution of the Jio Bharat V2.
